Specialist Grade in Acute Medicine

About the role

The Health Board is seeking a motivated Consultant in Acute Medicine to join a dynamic general medicine service across Pembrokeshire. This senior position will support the Welsh Government’s vision for NHS Wales while developing a specialist interest in acute care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality acute and emergency medical care.
• Support leadership and development of Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and the Acute Clinical Decisions Unit (ACDU).
• Contribute to strategic improvements in unscheduled care across the Health Board.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Primary Care, Emergency Department, Acute Oncology, WAST, and community services.
• Participate in innovative pathways such as Hospital @ Home, CATCH outreach, virtual wards, and hot clinics.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor with Consultant or Specialist Grade status in Acute Medicine.
• Experience in acute and emergency care settings.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and revalidation.
• Ability to work flexibly, including part‑time arrangements if required.
