Specialist Pharmacist – Children & Young People's Cancer Services

About the role

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Pharmacist to join the Children and Young People (CYP) pharmacy team on the Sutton site. You will work within a multidisciplinary environment supporting paediatric and young adult oncology patients, including those undergoing bone‑marrow transplantation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and evaluate clinical pharmacy services for the Paediatric Unit in line with Clinical Services guidelines.
• Provide safe, efficient and cost‑effective medicine use through ward‑based services, education, policies and guidelines.
• Maintain specialist knowledge of medicines used in paediatric oncology and act as a role model for pharmacy practice.
• Collaborate with the in‑patient wards (McElwain and Teenage Cancer Trust Unit) and the Children’s Day Unit to ensure continuous, high‑quality care.
• Support the Lead Pharmacist in delivering outstanding pharmacy services across the CYP Unit.

Required profile

• Qualified pharmacist with experience or strong interest in paediatric or oncology pharmacy.
• Motivated, dynamic and flexible with a collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to delivering patient‑centred care in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary setting.

Required skills

• Clinical pharmacy expertise in paediatric oncology.
• Knowledge of bone‑marrow transplantation medication protocols.
• Ability to develop and implement pharmacy policies, procedures and educational programmes.
