Specialty Doctor – Neuropsychiatry (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Specialty Doctor to join our Neuropsychiatric rehabilitation service for men at Cygnet Paddocks in Widnes. Working under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will deliver comprehensive psychiatric care to patients with acquired brain injury or neurological conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide routine medical and psychiatric support, including initial clerking and mental state examinations for newly admitted patients.
• Conduct assessments, investigations, diagnosis and treatment of in‑patients under Consultant supervision.
• Maintain clear communication with nursing staff, mental health professionals and external agencies.
• Participate in weekly ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, CPA, tribunal hearings and Section 117 meetings.
• Document all assessments, interventions and prepare discharge summaries in line with company policies.

Required profile

• Qualified Specialty Doctor or Associate Specialist Doctor in psychiatry.
• Experience in neuropsychiatric or rehabilitation settings is desirable.
• Ability to work full‑time within a multidisciplinary team and follow Consultant guidance.

Required skills

• Clinical psychiatric assessment and diagnosis.
• Medical record keeping and discharge planning.
