Specialty Doctor – Radiology (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Specialty Doctor will join a modern radiology service delivering a full General Radiology portfolio across CT, MRI, plain film, ultrasound and fluoroscopic investigations. The role is initially a 1‑year fixed‑term contract with a high likelihood of extension, and includes opportunities to teach undergraduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Provide CT and MRI reporting under consultant supervision.
• Interpret plain film studies and manage ultrasound lists, primarily inpatient scanning.
• Conduct fluoroscopic screening investigations and assist with selected interventional procedures.
• Participate in a monthly half‑day audit and teaching session for clinical governance.
• Take part in an on‑call rota (1 in 7) with shifts ending at 22:00, covered by a consultant.
• Deliver sessions at peripheral sites such as Heatherwood and Aldershot when required.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration and eligibility for occupational health clearance.
• Proven experience in general radiology reporting across multiple modalities.
• Willingness to engage in undergraduate teaching and audit activities.
• Flexibility to work across several hospital sites and adapt to on‑call duties.
