Sports Coach – Primary School (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Sports Coach to join Turnham Academy in Lewisham, London, for the upcoming academic year. This full‑time role involves delivering high‑quality physical education and sports sessions to primary‑aged pupils, fostering a love of sport and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons and extracurricular sports coaching sessions.
• Support pupils’ physical, social and emotional development through inclusive activities.
• Promote positive behaviour, teamwork and resilience in a safe environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate sport across the curriculum.
• Maintain equipment and ensure health and safety standards are met.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Sports Coach, PE Coach or in a similar role with primary‑aged children.
• A recognised sports coaching or physical education qualification is desirable.
• Strong communication, behaviour management and organisational abilities.
• A positive, energetic and flexible approach with a passion for inspiring young people.
