Sports Lecturer

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Sports Lecturers to deliver high-quality sport-related programmes for further education colleges in the South East. The role involves planning and teaching lessons that cover sports science, coaching, fitness, anatomy, physiology and industry practices, helping learners progress towards careers in sport, fitness and leisure.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging sports lessons across a range of levels.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress in line with college requirements.
• Provide constructive feedback and academic support to promote learner achievement.
• Maintain accurate teaching records and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Support learners in understanding performance, coaching techniques, fitness principles and industry standards.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Sport, Sports Science, Coaching, Physical Education, Exercise Science or a related field.
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent.
• Experience teaching sport in further education, higher education, secondary or adult learning settings.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
