Staff Engineer – IT Automation & AI Transformation (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a visionary Staff Engineer to lead IT automation and AI transformation across the company. The role will design, build, and iterate a toolchain that blends traditional automation tools with AI‑driven workflows, while mentoring teams to adopt the platform at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build and iterate a toolchain fusing traditional automation and productivity tools (n8n, Google Workspace) with spec‑driven design and agentic working, testing on IT and Security.
• Advocate, mentor and enable early‑adopter teams to use the platform, gather feedback and iterate.
• Establish self‑sustaining cultural practices, scale the platform across departments and enable whole‑organisation adoption.
• Drive the evolution of IT operations toward an *‑as‑code infrastructure model through hands‑on architecture and design.
• Contribute to the IT/Sec Operating System, mentor the engineering team and foster a collaborative engineering culture.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience at Staff Engineer level in a cloud‑native hypergrowth SaaS environment.
• Hands‑on builder and systems thinker with coding experience, preferably in platform or SRE teams.
• Proven track record of AI‑native adoption, moving workflows into production‑grade automated agents.
• Deep technical mastery of infrastructure‑as‑code, modern CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions) and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., n8n, Zapier).
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
