Staff Nurse (Band 5) – Rehabilitation Unit

About the role

The East Brig Rehabilitation Unit, a 10‑bed specialist service for severe and enduring mental illness, is seeking a motivated Staff Nurse (Band 5). You will join a multidisciplinary team to design and deliver personalised treatment and recovery plans that help patients transition back home.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive, individualised care plans for service users.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team and third‑sector agencies to coordinate care.
• Advocate on behalf of patients, promoting a recovery‑oriented approach.
• Maintain high standards of clinical practice and documentation.
• Contribute to team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification, eligible for NHS Band 5.
• Either newly qualified or experienced in mental health nursing.
• Flexible, resourceful and able to work autonomously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, high‑quality care.

Required skills

• Registered Nurse registration (NMC).
• Knowledge of mental health rehabilitation practices.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
