Staff Nurse – Health Visiting Team (Band 5) – Part‑time

About the role

The Health Visiting Staff Nurse works within the Health Visiting Team to provide preventative and supportive care for children and families across Wiltshire. Based at one of three regional hubs, the role combines community visits with office‑based duties, under the supervision of a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Healthy Programme in homes and community settings as delegated by the Health Visitor.
• Identify, monitor and support vulnerable children and families, completing Family Health Needs assessments.
• Collaborate with Early Years services, children’s centres and other community partners.
• Promote infant feeding and parent‑infant relationships in line with Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
• Help the team achieve Key Performance Indicators and meet public‑health objectives.

Required profile

• Current NMC registration in nursing.
• Experience working with children and families.
• Full UK driving licence and own car.
• Knowledge of national and local children’s service and public‑health policies.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.

Required skills

• Computer literate.
