Staff Nurse – Night Shift (Edinburgh)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join our Ashley Court Nursing Home in Morningside, Edinburgh on the night shift. You will deliver professional clinical nursing care to our residents while supporting the Home Manager in daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑standard nursing care to all residents during night hours.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff and visitors.
• Supervise and support junior staff, offering guidance and leadership.
• Delegate workload and ensure efficient use of manpower in the Home Manager’s absence.
• Keep accurate records and individual care plans in line with statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months post‑graduate nursing experience in elderly care (nursing home, hospital or community), or newly qualified nurses.
• Experience caring for residents with dementia.
• Strong time‑management and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to give sensitive advice to staff, residents and relatives.

Required skills

• Clinical nursing competence.

• Record‑keeping and care‑plan documentation.
