Staff Nurse – Older People's Mental Health (Fulbourn)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join the Denbigh Ward team within the Older People's Mental Health service at our Fulbourn site. The role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to service users with complex mental and physical health needs, working alongside a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients during night shifts.
• Provide professional advice, support and care to service users and their carers.
• Ensure compliance with local, national policies and legislation governing service provision.
• Identify training needs of junior registered and non‑registered staff and support their development.
• Promote equality, diversity and patient rights in line with best practice.
• Maintain effective communication pathways within the team and across services.

Required profile

• Experience working in a mental health setting, preferably with older adults.
• Strong teamwork ethic and sense of accountability.
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound clinical decisions.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and high standards of patient care.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NHS mental health policies, legislation and best practice.
• Proficiency in nursing assessment, care planning and evaluation.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
