Staff Nurse – Registered General Nurse

About the role
Oxleas is seeking a Registered General Nurse to join its prison health service. You will work across acute and primary care, delivering high‑quality clinical care to a diverse inmate population.
Key responsibilities
- Exercise professional autonomy and make complex clinical judgments within Trust policies and the NMC Code.
- Deliver acute and primary care, long‑term condition management, enhanced assessment, diagnostic interventions and health‑promotion activities.
- Run daily clinics covering urgent care, triage, immunisations, wound care, health screening and care planning.
- Administer medication safely and respond to emergencies on prison wings and communal areas.
- Provide supervision, mentorship and safe delegation to junior staff, students and unregistered personnel.
Required profile
- Registered General Nurse (NMC‑registered) with experience in acute and primary care.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and make critical decisions in a secure environment.
- Commitment to evidence‑based practice and the Trust’s values of kindness, fairness, listening and caring.
- Eligibility to work in the UK without sponsorship.
