Staff Product Designer – Generative Media

About the role

We are seeking a Staff (L6) Product Designer to lead the design of Synthesia's AI Playground, a generative‑media workspace where users experiment with AI models to create video clips, images, and motion graphics. The Playground is both a creation destination and a strategic on‑ramp that turns experiments into polished videos. You will operate as a senior individual contributor, setting direction, influencing roadmap decisions, and raising the craft bar for generative tools.

Key responsibilities

• Own the evolution of the Playground from a single‑format surface to a scalable multi‑format creation hub.
• Set design direction for discovery, experimentation, and iteration across all media formats.
• Partner with product and engineering to define quality standards, principles, and metrics.
• Prototype and test interaction models quickly, choosing the appropriate fidelity level.
• Raise the bar on prompt UX, format balance, iteration workflows, and the feel of creating with AI at speed.

Required profile

• Significant experience designing creation tools or generative‑media platforms.
• Strong craft in interaction and visual design with a track record of shipping complex workflows.
• Deep comfort designing within AI model constraints.
• Systems thinking to balance Playground as a destination and an on‑ramp to Studio.
• Experience designing multi‑format products and handling fast‑moving generative‑media challenges.
