STE05 Building Surveyor – Rail Contractor (Day Rate)

About the role
We are seeking a qualified STE05 Building Surveyor to join a rail contractor on a long‑term contract basis. You will inspect operational property such as station buildings, depots and lineside structures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out detailed inspections of stations, depots and lineside buildings.
- Prepare accurate reports using Citadel software and adhere to relevant standards.
- Plan daily access arrangements and coordinate with site managers.
- Report findings to the Operations Director.
Required profile
- Degree‑level education in Building Surveying or a related field.
- Full STE05 competency.
- Strong understanding of construction materials and common defects.
- UK driving licence.
Required skills
- STE05 certification.
- Proficiency with Citadel software.
- Report writing and computer literacy.
What we offer
- Day rate of £350 (negotiable).
- Long‑term contract, IR35 out of scope.
