Stock Condition Surveyor

About the role

The Stock Condition Surveyor will inspect and assess the condition of social housing stock across our portfolio, ensuring each property meets safety, compliance and quality standards. This permanent, hybrid role supports long‑term asset planning and investment strategies, contributing to the delivery of decent homes for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out detailed condition surveys of social housing units using mobile survey devices.
• Record findings against the Decent Homes Standard and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
• Identify defects, recommend remedial actions and help prioritise maintenance programmes.
• Provide accurate data to inform asset management, investment decisions and long‑term planning.
• Manage own workload to meet survey targets and deadlines.

Required profile

• Qualification in Building Surveying (HNC/HND/BSc) or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of Decent Homes Standard, HHSRS and relevant health and safety regulations.
• Strong IT competence and experience using mobile survey equipment.
• Ability to work independently and organise a flexible schedule.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
