Stock Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Stock Controller to join a busy food manufacturing operation in Central Scotland. The role combines office‑based administration with hands‑on stock management, ensuring materials are available when needed and inventory records remain accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate stock records across multiple storage locations and conduct regular stock counts.
• Process stock movements, update the internal stock management system and monitor inventory levels.
• Purchase packaging and raw materials from approved suppliers and review supplier invoices.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries, shortages, quality issues and resolve discrepancies.
• Investigate stock variances, implement corrective actions and support internal audits.
• Ensure safe storage of stock in line with company standards and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in stock control, inventory management or purchasing, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Good understanding of supply‑chain and stock‑management principles.
• Excellent organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for building supplier relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
