About the role
Manchester City Council is seeking a dedicated Storekeeper to support its Community Equipment Warehouse. This temporary full‑time position (2‑3 months) involves maintaining a high‑quality warehousing environment, focusing on storage, decontamination, recycling, and deliveries.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of assets and monitor stock levels.
- Decontaminate and recycle returned equipment in line with health and safety standards.
- Assist the transport contractor with loading and unloading vehicles.
- Ensure the warehouse is tidy, safe, and that items are stored and labelled correctly.
- Comply with Health & Safety legislation and maintain a secure workplace.
- Provide customer‑focused service, meeting service deadlines and targets.
Required profile
- Experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
- Knowledge of stock control and inventory management.
- Ability to handle and decontaminate equipment safely.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to high‑quality customer service.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety practices and legislation.
