Stores Operative

About the role

Avantis is looking for a reliable and hardworking Stores Operative to support the day-to-day running of its stores and warehouse. You will help ensure that materials and equipment are received, stored and prepared accurately, contributing to an efficient and well-organised operation. The position is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general stores and warehouse tasks, keeping work areas organised and materials stored safely
• Pick, check and pack materials and equipment accurately in line with orders and dispatch requirements
• Receive incoming deliveries, check items against delivery notes and report any discrepancies or damage
• Prepare materials and equipment for collection, dispatch or internal use so they are correctly identified and ready on time
• Handle and move stock carefully, following safe working practices and manual handling procedures
• Work with colleagues to support daily warehouse priorities and maintain an efficient service

Required profile

• Dependable, punctual and able to follow instructions and agreed procedures
• Attention to detail, able to check deliveries and pick items accurately
• Organisation, able to keep stock and work areas orderly and manage tasks effectively
• Willingness to undertake hands-on stores and warehouse duties
• Clear communication and teamwork with colleagues
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Previous stores or warehouse experience is beneficial; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are also valued
