Strategic FP&A Manager – Interim (6 months)

About the role

This interim position supports a UK public‑sector organisation by strengthening month‑end performance, improving forecast accuracy and delivering capital reporting that informs senior decision‑making. The role is contract‑based for up to six months and works closely with finance and wider business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and explain significant budget variances with remedial action plans.
• Lead the annual budgeting cycle, including modelling, forecasting and baseline budget management.
• Own capital accounting delivery – profiling, valuations, impairment review, balance‑sheet classification and fixed‑asset register integrity.
• Provide timely monthly financial and management reports in partnership with the accounting function.
• Advise directors and senior managers on financial planning, risk, cost pressures and IFRS/FreM compliance.

Required profile

• Strong public‑sector management accounting experience.
• Professional body membership or equivalent qualification.
• Senior finance experience with a track record of delivering effective advice.
