Stress Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Stress Engineer to deliver structural and stress analysis packages for marine mechanical and hybrid structures. The role involves assessing integrity, developing calculations and models, and presenting findings to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assess structural integrity considering environmental loads, material degradation and ageing mechanisms.
• Develop hand calculations, analytical models and supporting technical evidence.
• Lead end‑to‑end analysis packages from scoping to final delivery and presentation.
• Provide safety‑focused recommendations and design modifications where required.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including drawings and analysis records.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to define requirements and communicate findings.

Required profile

• Experience in structural or stress analysis within maritime, defence, industrial or other regulated sectors.
• Strong understanding of mechanical structures, load paths and material behaviour.
• Ability to evaluate ageing or degraded structures and apply engineering judgement with incomplete data.
• Effective communication skills and confidence presenting technical information to stakeholders.
