Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturer in East London, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive supplier quality performance and ensure compliance with industry standards. The role will support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Supplier Quality Assurance & Performance Management
• Manage supplier non‑conformance, claims and corrective actions
• Oversee incoming quality control and packaging quality (PDS review)
• Run supplier audit programmes and manage audit outcomes
• Coordinate PPAP and change management via the PIA portal
• Administer SAP Quality Management processes
• Report on quality costs and maintain QMS compliance
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance

Required profile

• National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Quality or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
• 3‑5 years experience in supplier quality or quality engineering within automotive manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and customer‑specific requirements
• Qualified Internal Auditor; VDA 6.3 Process Auditor certification is advantageous
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel as needed
