Supply Chain Manager

About the role

We are a well‑established family‑run manufacturing SME in South Birmingham looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to own the end‑to‑end supply chain function. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will drive improvements across procurement, inventory and logistics to support our growth ambitions.

Key responsibilities

• Review and enhance supply chain processes, SOPs and operational frameworks.
• Drive measurable improvements in OTIF, inventory accuracy and service performance.
• Strengthen Health & Safety practices, including risk assessments and compliance.
• Improve demand planning, forecasting and stock control processes.
• Develop supplier relationships and improve commercial performance.
• Oversee ERP usage, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Establish KPI frameworks, reporting structures and performance tracking.
• Lead and develop a small team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Supply Chain Manager in an SME manufacturing environment.
• Track record of delivering process improvement and operational change.
• Success improving OTIF, inventory accuracy and service KPIs.
• Experience across procurement, supplier management and inventory control.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and risk‑management frameworks.
• Experience implementing or refining SOPs and operational processes.
• Proactive, “can‑do” attitude with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Excellent communication, analytical and leadership abilities.
• Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH) is advantageous.
