Supply Key Stage 1 Teacher – Leeds

About the role

Randstad Education is seeking adaptable and enthusiastic Supply Key Stage 1 (KS1) teachers for schools across Leeds. This temporary position offers full control over your schedule, allowing you to choose the days you work while delivering pre‑planned lessons to Year 1 and Year 2 pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality, pre‑set lessons for Year 1 and Year 2, focusing on phonics and foundational reading.
• Utilise phonics programmes such as Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., or Bug Club to support early literacy.
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that motivates young learners.
• Apply effective behaviour management strategies to maintain engagement.
• Build quick rapport with school staff, leadership teams, and pupils.
• Adhere strictly to safeguarding policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK teaching qualification.
• Recent, proven experience teaching in a KS1 setting and a solid understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum.
• Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to adapt to different school environments.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
