Support Worker – Adult Learning Disabilities & Autism

About the role

Join Thornfield Grange, a specialist residential service for adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. As a Support Worker you will help residents with daily living, personal care and community activities, contributing to a safe and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide physical and emotional support to adults with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviours.
• Assist with personal care, meals and medication administration as required.
• Facilitate community outings, holidays and transport residents safely.
• Maintain accurate records of care, report medical and welfare needs, and uphold safeguarding procedures.
• Ensure a clean, safe environment and support the implementation of care plans.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for helping vulnerable adults and improving their quality of life.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Sensitive, intuitive and able to respond to a variety of emotional and behavioural needs.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Required skills

• Full UK driving licence held for at least 2 years.
• Eligibility for DBS clearance.
• Ability to follow care protocols and health & safety guidelines.
