About the role

This Support Worker‑Graduate Programme position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your professional skills and make a difference. The Support Worker will be a member of a multi‑disciplined team using holistic approaches to support Depaul service users. Working within the principle of harm reduction, residents receive a high degree of care, support and dignity, with a commitment to service‑user participation and empowerment.

Key responsibilities

• Encourage and support service users to develop skills in managing their daily living.
• Ensure service areas are kept tidy, clean and hygienic, including communal areas.
• Encourage service users to take responsibility for maintaining their own environment.
• Observe and attend key worker sessions with service users when required.
• Assist residents with personal monies, service charge payments, and related tasks.
• Carry out project administration tasks such as petty cash upkeep, statistics, invoices, record keeping, service‑user files, OTIS, IR and AR completion.
• Ensure health and safety standards are met in line with Depaul’s policies and the project’s safety statement.
• Attend and participate in team meetings, staff team days and ongoing graduate programmes and events.

Required profile

• Qualification in Social Care, Psychology, Social Science, Criminology or Community Development.
• Understanding of homelessness issues and supports for service users with complex needs.
• Good communication skills and computer literacy.
• Knowledge of Depaul’s vision, mission and values.
• Ability to work shifts.
• Relevant experience within the community and voluntary sector.
• Desirable: a driving licence.
