Supported Living Support Worker

About the role

Essential Homecare Services, a domiciliary care agency serving the North Down and Ards area since 1997, is recruiting a Supported Living Support Worker. You will join an experienced team providing 24-hour care to a service user with a learning difficulty and visual impairment who lives in their own home. Shifts cover mornings, afternoons, evenings and overnight, with an alternating weekend rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with personal care: bathing, incontinence product management, dressing and undressing, mobility and transfers, and feeding as recommended by speech and language therapy
• Provide emotional support and help with social interaction
• Communicate effectively with service users, colleagues and the management team

Required profile

• Right to live and work in the UK
• Willingness to obtain business car insurance
• Flexibility regarding working hours
• Desired: previous care experience, a driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Honest, reliable, highly self-motivated, able to maintain confidentiality and deal professionally with service users and their families
• Access NI disclosure check required (£47, with a payment plan available)

Pay

• Monday to Friday, 7am-7pm: £12.50 driver / £11.50 non-driver; Saturday and Sunday: £13.00 driver / £11.50 non-driver from 7pm until midnight, then £13.00 non-driver
