System Administrator – IT Systems Support

About the role

The Trust is looking for an IT Systems Support professional to keep its core technology services stable, secure and available. You will work on‑site at Lister Hospital, providing day‑to‑day technical assistance and ensuring that critical systems run smoothly for clinical and administrative staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support for IT systems and end‑users.
• Maintain servers, storage solutions and underlying infrastructure.
• Manage user accounts, access rights and permissions.
• Monitor backups, apply updates and track system performance.
• Assist with system upgrades, project work and virtualization tasks.
• Troubleshoot incidents and resolve tickets promptly.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve issues.
• Keep system documentation accurate and up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• Experience in IT support or infrastructure roles.
• Knowledge of Windows Server or Linux environments.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and clear communication skills.
• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware) are desirable.
