Systems Analysis & Simulation Engineer

About the role

Archangel Lightworks is seeking a Systems Analysis & Simulation Engineer to help optimise laser‑based space‑to‑ground communication links. You will work with a fast‑growing team to develop, test and analyse models that improve link availability and network performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and test algorithms that forecast link availability using meteorological forecasts and terminal sensor data.
• Estimate and optimise link performance under expected conditions and analyse empirical data for continuous improvement.
• Use Archangel Lightworks’ simulation tool to evaluate network‑level performance, support site selection and define use‑cases, scenarios and KPIs.
• Process large simulation datasets, improve simulation efficiency and generate technical reports, visualisations and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the creation and testing of additional analysis and simulation tools to enhance product performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience developing complex models and simulations.
• Proven experience with MATLAB/Simulink, preferably incorporating meteorological data for communications networks.
• Hands‑on experience analysing empirical data and processing large datasets efficiently.
• Practical knowledge of MATLAB and Python for scientific computing.
