Tax & Accounts Manager

About the role

This position offers an experienced Tax & Accounts Manager the chance to lead a varied portfolio within a growing accountancy practice. You will split your time between tax advisory, accounts review and client relationship management, working closely with partners on complex assignments while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver proactive tax planning advice to owner‑managed businesses and private clients.
• Advise on corporate tax, personal tax, business restructures and succession planning.
• Lead HMRC enquiries and technical projects, reviewing complex tax returns and computations.
• Review statutory accounts and corporation tax computations, providing technical guidance to the accounts team.
• Manage a substantial client portfolio, monitor workflow, WIP and recoverability.
• Mentor and develop senior staff, supporting the wider team.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified.
• Significant experience within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical tax knowledge and previous portfolio management experience.
• Proven leadership and mentoring ability.
