Tax Director – Corporate, International & M&A

About the role
Oxford Tax Services is seeking a senior Tax Director to lead corporate, international and M&A tax functions for multinational clients. The role is client‑facing and sits on the senior leadership team, driving tax strategy, compliance and governance across complex cross‑border projects.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee global corporate tax compliance, manage multi‑jurisdictional filings and resolve disputes with HMRC and foreign tax authorities.
- Develop and execute tax planning strategies including residency reviews, withholding tax optimisation, permanent establishment risk assessments and Pillar Two/CBCR modelling.
- Lead group tax reporting, tax provisioning, IFRS/US GAAP disclosures, R&D incentives, Patent Box and deferred tax accounting.
- Drive governance and risk management through SAO compliance, RACM documentation, risk registers and control frameworks.
- Implement tax technology solutions, configure ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365) and automate tax data workflows.
- Advise on cross‑border structuring, treaty optimisation, IP migration, DEMPE and exit tax considerations.
- Support M&A transactions with due diligence, SPA analysis, carve‑out structuring and post‑merger integration.
- Provide interim tax leadership, manage reporting cycles, audits and senior stakeholder engagement.
Required profile
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in corporate, international and M&A tax within a professional services or large corporate environment.
- Proven track record of leading tax teams and delivering complex cross‑border projects for multinational groups.
- Strong understanding of UK tax law, EU directives, OECD Pillar Two, CBCR and global tax compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior clients and internal stakeholders.
