Tax Manager Role with Autonomy, Influence, and Progression

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Tax Manager to join a forward‑thinking chartered accountancy practice located just south of Cambridge. The role offers genuine autonomy, the chance to influence client strategy, and a clear pathway to senior leadership within a supportive, technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate tax computations and personal tax returns.
• Manage partnership, trust and R&D tax claim projects.
• Develop and advise on tax planning strategies for a mixed client portfolio.
• Collaborate with managers and wider teams to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery.
• Mentor junior staff, review their work and provide constructive feedback.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned corporate and private clients.

Required profile

• ATT and/or CTA qualification, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
• Strong technical knowledge of corporate and personal tax matters.
• Proven experience managing a diverse client portfolio within an accountancy practice.
• Confident client‑facing adviser with a collaborative, commercial mindset.
• Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.
