Tax Senior/Manager – Part-Time (up to £50k FTE)

About the role

You will join an award‑winning accountancy practice in central Bristol, working as the dedicated tax specialist for the office on a flexible part‑time basis (approximately 25 hours per week). This role offers the chance to apply your tax compliance expertise while becoming the go‑to person for all tax matters locally.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review personal tax returns.
• Prepare Capital Gains Tax returns, including 60‑day reporting requirements.
• Manage self‑assessment registrations and handle HMRC correspondence.
• Prepare trust tax returns and annual declarations.
• Assist with partnership tax returns where required.
• Liaise with HMRC and maintain accurate client records.
• Ensure work is completed in line with internal procedures and statutory deadlines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivering excellent service.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a tax compliance role within an accountancy practice.
• Good understanding of personal tax and self‑assessment processes.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
• Confidence communicating with clients, HMRC and colleagues.
• ATT qualified, CTA qualified or qualified by experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax software.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
