Teaching Assistant – Chester, North West England

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join schools in Chester and the surrounding North West England area. In this role you will support pupils, particularly those with additional learning needs, and help create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work one‑to‑one or in small groups to reinforce lesson content and boost pupil confidence.
• Provide tailored support for children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) using creative strategies.
• Collaborate with class teachers and other professionals to monitor progress and plan activities.
• Assist with lunch and break duties to ensure a safe and pleasant school day.
• Report any safeguarding concerns directly to the SENCo.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an educational setting or a youth‑support role.
• Demonstrated experience supporting pupils with ALN.
• Enhanced DBS check and EWC registration (or willingness to obtain).
• Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (desirable but not essential).
