Teaching Assistant for Year 10 SEN Student (Part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a Year 10 student with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in our SEN unit. The role is part‑time, working from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday to Friday, and offers an hourly rate of £13‑£15.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised academic assistance, adapting teaching methods to the student’s learning style.
• Support the student’s emotional wellbeing, building confidence and addressing low self‑esteem.
• Collaborate with the SEN team to monitor progress and produce regular reports.
• Maintain a flexible approach to respond to changing needs and challenges.
• Foster a nurturing relationship that enhances the student’s overall educational experience.

Required profile

• Experience with PECCS and secondary‑school SEN support.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and resilience.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building positive rapport with the student.
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving educational requirements.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in special educational needs.
