Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Year 6 SEMH Support)

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking a full‑time Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Manchester (M8). You will work primarily with a Year 6 pupil who has SEMH needs, providing one‑to‑one support and contributing to the wider KS2 classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with SEMH requirements.
• Provide small‑group assistance and help facilitate interactive learning activities across KS2.
• Use games, sports and creative tasks to encourage participation and engagement.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies.
• Promote positive behaviour management and build strong relationships with pupils.
• Adapt flexibly to the evolving needs of the class and individual students.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially with SEMH, is desirable.
• Caring, resilient and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Commitment to a long‑term, full‑time role.
