Teaching Assistant – Primary & SEN Schools (East Kent)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support primary and special educational needs (SEN) schools across East Kent. The role involves providing tailored assistance to pupils, working closely with teachers, and helping create a positive learning environment. Opportunities are available on a day‑to‑day supply basis as well as longer‑term placements, starting in September.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils in primary and SEN settings.
• Assist with learning activities and adapt resources to meet individual needs.
• Support children with additional needs such as ASC, SEMH, ADHD, SLCN and complex requirements.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to maintain a supportive classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational role (desirable).
• Experience supporting children with SEN is advantageous.
• Passionate about helping pupils reach their potential.
• Reliable, flexible and adaptable.
• Holder of an enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to travel across East Kent; a driving licence is helpful but not essential.
