Teaching Assistant – Reception (Primary) – Leeds

About the role

This temporary full‑time position supports the reception class of a primary school in Leeds. You will work alongside the class teacher to help individual pupils or small groups throughout the school day, providing extra assistance and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the classroom for each session together with the teacher.
• Support children who need extra help to complete tasks.
• Assist teachers in planning learning activities and completing records.
• Help manage class behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive atmosphere.

Required profile

• Patient and able to build strong relationships with children.
• Empathetic, approachable, kind and caring.
• Good understanding of safeguarding in a school setting.
• Experience working with special‑needs pupils.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
