Teaching Assistant – Reception (Primary) – Leeds

About the role
This temporary full‑time position supports the reception class of a primary school in Leeds. You will work alongside the class teacher to help individual pupils or small groups throughout the school day, providing extra assistance and fostering a positive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare the classroom for each session together with the teacher.
- Support children who need extra help to complete tasks.
- Assist teachers in planning learning activities and completing records.
- Help manage class behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive atmosphere.
Required profile
- Patient and able to build strong relationships with children.
- Empathetic, approachable, kind and caring.
- Good understanding of safeguarding in a school setting.
- Experience working with special‑needs pupils.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
