Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a full‑time Teaching Assistant for a medium‑sized secondary school in Hackney. The role supports pupils in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping teachers deliver the curriculum and ensuring a safe learning environment. The position runs from September 2, 2026 until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension or permanent employment based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 classes.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to students as needed.
• Help maintain classroom order and promote positive behaviour.
• Support the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Prepare and organise learning resources and equipment.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people.
• A degree (any discipline).
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
