Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (North London)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support secondary school classrooms across Enfield, Wood Green, Barnet and surrounding North London boroughs. You will work with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, helping teachers deliver engaging lessons and providing individual support where needed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering curriculum content and classroom activities.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support for pupils who need extra help.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and well‑managed learning environment.
• Prepare teaching resources and assist with classroom set‑up.
• Monitor student progress and report observations to teachers.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Positive, can‑do attitude and passion for supporting learners.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo DBS and safeguarding checks.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (within the last 12 months).

Required skills

• Effective communication with students and staff.
• Basic organisational skills for classroom support.
