Teaching Assistant – SEMH Support (Full‑time Temp‑to‑Perm)

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide specialist support for pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs in Salford. This full‑time, temp‑to‑perm position offers the chance to work directly with an 11‑14‑year‑old pupil recovering from injury and to deliver group sessions for other SEMH learners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one SEMH support for a pupil aged 11‑14 with recent injury.
• Facilitate small‑group SEMH sessions, encouraging engagement and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral leads and external professionals to coordinate support plans.
• Undertake outreach visits to neighbouring schools in the Salford area, requiring a valid UK driving licence.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.
• Confidence in delivering both individual and small‑group interventions.
• Valid UK driving licence (essential for outreach duties).
• Availability to work full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:00 pm (one day until 4:00 pm).
