Teaching Assistant – SEN Support (North London)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding special educational needs (SEN) school in North London. You will work with students aged 4‑14 who have complex learning difficulties, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The role offers an immediate start and a supportive environment with excellent resources.

Key responsibilities

• Support students with ASD and other complex learning requirements.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group academic assistance.
• Promote a positive, inclusive classroom culture and offer emotional support.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and use positive reinforcement.
• Assist with lesson planning and delivery to develop communication and independence.
• Follow safeguarding policies to ensure student safety and well‑being.

Required profile

• Right to work in the UK.
• Current, clear DBS check.
• Experience as a teaching assistant, preferably with SEN students.
• Understanding of autism spectrum disorder.
• Patient, caring and resilient attitude.
