Teaching Assistant – Support Children’s Learning

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children’s learning and development in our Bristol school. You will work closely with teachers and specialists to deliver personalised support for pupils, particularly those with special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tailored assistance to whole‑class activities and one‑to‑one sessions.
• Help implement and monitor individual learning plans and strategies.
• Foster a positive, encouraging classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants and external specialists to achieve the best outcomes for each student.
• Support the monitoring and recording of pupil progress.

Required profile

• Experience working with children, especially those with special educational needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for helping pupils succeed.
• Relevant qualifications in education or special needs (desirable but not essential).
