Teaching Assistant / Support Worker – SEN School (PMLD, SLD, ASD)

About the role

We are looking for compassionate and resilient individuals to join our SEN schools in Oxfordshire. As a Teaching Assistant / Support Worker you will support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties and autism spectrum disorder, helping them achieve both educational and personal milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in the classroom, adapting activities to individual needs.
• Assist with sensory learning, communication strategies and structured routines.
• Provide personal care such as feeding, changing and toileting.
• Support pupils with physical needs, including safe use of mobility aids or hoists (training provided).
• Promote independence, life‑skills and social development.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Caring, patient and passionate about supporting children with SEN.
• Comfortable with personal care responsibilities.
• Confident or eager to learn supporting children with complex needs.
• Strong team player with good communication skills.
• Reliable, proactive and resilient.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required.
