Teaching Assistant – Temp to Perm – September Start

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of a friendly primary school in Banbury for a Teaching Assistant to start in September. The position begins on a temporary basis with the prospect of becoming permanent, offering a supportive environment where you can make a real difference to pupils across Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and those with Special Educational Needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning in KS1 and KS2 classrooms.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance for pupils with a range of SEN.
• Collaborate with class teachers to deliver engaging, inclusive activities.
• Promote pupils' confidence, independence and academic progress.
• Assist with behaviour management and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
• Experience supporting children across KS1, KS2 and SEN.
• Patient, adaptable and committed to every child’s success.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider school team.
• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
