Teaching Assistant & Welfare Support – Primary School (Lancaster)

About the role

This part‑time position combines lunchtime welfare duties with classroom support for Year 1 pupils in a welcoming primary school in North Lancaster. The role starts in September 2026 and is intended to be long‑term, offering a balanced mix of supervision and teaching assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunchtime (12:00‑13:30) and promote positive behaviour.
• Support Year 1 teachers on Wednesdays (09:00‑15:00) with learning activities.
• Provide individual and small‑group assistance to help children reach their potential.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils throughout the day.

Required profile

• Experience working with primary‑aged children, preferably in a school setting.
• Positive, patient and caring attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

• None specified beyond general child‑care and classroom support abilities.
