Teaching Assistant – Year 1 (Primary) – Full‑time Temporary

About the role

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a Year 1 class in a well‑rated primary school in West London. The role is full‑time during term dates and will run until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension or a permanent offer based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering the curriculum for Year 1 pupils.
• Assist with classroom management, behaviour support and individual learning needs.
• Prepare and organise teaching resources and learning materials.
• Supervise pupils during break times, meals and outings.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and pupil progress.

Required profile

• Minimum of one year teaching assistant experience in a UK primary school.
• Current safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
