Teaching Assistant – Year 5 (Full‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 class in a welcoming primary school in Bispham, Blackpool. The position starts as soon as possible and runs full‑time through the academic year, with the possibility of continuation into September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom support and assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
• Support pupils individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Help maintain a positive, engaging learning environment.
• Assist in preparing learning resources and classroom activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
• Confidence in supporting Key Stage 2 pupils.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability, adaptability and commitment to pupil progress.
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS on the update service.
