Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Team Leader to support our Bedford warehouse operation. This hands‑on role drives performance, maintains 5S and Opertune standards, and coaches team members to achieve their best.

Key responsibilities

• Lead by example, coordinating shift activities, prioritising and delegating tasks.
• Monitor attendance, conduct and performance in line with company policies.
• Train and coach team members from induction onward.
• Prepare team performance reports (KPIs, absence, skills, H&S, etc.).
• Step in to run the shift in the Supervisor’s absence.
• Conduct daily briefs and debriefs to ensure clear goals.
• Maintain adherence to SOPs, drive Opertune and 5S initiatives.
• Support quality checks and ensure regulatory compliance (H&S, Mail Integrity, CDG, Data Protection).
• Record and report incidents, accidents or near‑misses.

Required profile

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence in giving feedback and influencing performance.
• Good organisational ability and accuracy under pressure.
• Ideally 1+ year experience in a 3PL, FMCG or downstream environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Forklift truck (FLT) licence (where applicable).
• First Aid certification (where applicable).
• Fire Warden or relevant Health & Safety training (where applicable).
