Team Leader/Manager – Adult Social Care (Leicester)

About the role

Leicester City Council is seeking an experienced Team Leader/Manager to oversee its Locality West adult social care service. This full‑time, three‑month temporary position will be paid at £42 per hour under an umbrella arrangement and requires a hybrid working pattern with at least two days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a generic locality service for older adults and adults with physical disabilities, including issues such as substance misuse and homelessness.
• Supervise and support a team of social workers, providing one‑to‑one guidance and leading team meetings.
• Oversee caseloads, monitor performance, and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
• Lead safeguarding and risk management activities, handling complex casework and court preparations.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Proven managerial experience in statutory adult social care.
• Extensive background in locality work, including complex case management, safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act decisions, and court work.
